Description Evan Fraser 2007-09-15 03:58:35 UTC
Hiya,

When I use wine to run a windows application, the entire screen goes black while the windows application is in focus. If I move the mouse so that the window (not that I can see anything on the screen at this point) isn't in focus, then the screen unblackens except for the windows program.

My video card is a NV17 Geforce4 420 Go 1024x768x24 on the laptop LCD, running on Ubuntu 7.10.

I have another system running the same OS but with the Binary Nvidia driver, and it doesn't have this problem.

I can take some photos to illustrate the problem if that would help?

Oh, and this is easily reproduceable (100%) by running wine with the provided (with wine) notepad.exe

Thanks, Evan.

Please attach Xorg.0.log and the output of xwininfo after clicking on the Wine window.

xf86-video-nv has been officially unmaintained for a bit now, and we are closing all -nv bugs. If your problem was not addressed, and -nv is still broken, please try xf86-video-nouveau. Thank you.
