I'm using the latest git version on a Fedora 7 system.

I'm having problems with the external display going to a projector.  With the "intel" driver, when I connect the external display I get no output.  Pressing the bios display switch key results in:

(II) intel(0): Output VGA connected
(II) intel(0): I2C device "CRTDDC_A:ddc2" registered at address 0xA0.
(II) intel(0): I2C device "CRTDDC_A:ddc2" removed.

and lots of mode info going to the log, but still no output.  I do get output if I start the X server with the external projector connected, but again the BIOS key does not work to cycle the displays.

With the i810 driver, I can cycle through the displays, but in the mode where normally output would go to both the panel and the projector, the projector reports "Unsupported signal".

The display switch key may or may not work correctly, depending on your laptop and distro configuration.  However, the xrandr command should allow you to enable and reconfigure your outputs on the fly.  Please give it a try and let us know if it works.  Since it's been working for everyone else, I'll mark this as a DUP of the hotkey bug.
